Soroco wrestling team wins triangular

Steamboat Springs — The Soroco wrestling team won a triangular between Grand Valley and North Park Thursday night in Oak Creek.
The meet was originally scheduled for Tuesday but was moved to Thursday to accommodate the visiting teams' schedules.
The Rams defeated the Grand Valley Cardinals 39-24 and North Park Wildcats 45-6.
"I am very pleased with the way we wrestled tonight," Soroco coach Doug Gates said.
Soroco travels to Leadville Saturday for an all-day tournament. Eighteen teams are expected to attend, including the Hayden Tigers.
Soroco's next home meet is a Jan. 30 triangular against Hayden and Steamboat Springs, giving Routt County wrestling fans a chance to see all three teams in action as each prepares for the upcoming regional and state tournaments.
"We are really looking forward to this meet," Gates said.
