Snow encourages some guests to stick around

Visitors who intended to leave Steamboat Springs before the first of the year had good reason to reconsider their vacation plans Wednesday. The Steamboat Ski Area reported more than 18 inches of new snow at mid-mountain from a storm that moved into the area Tuesday and continued into Wednesday.

Police enjoy quiet New Year's Eve

The winter storm that came through Steamboat Springs Tuesday evening kept many people off the roads.Fewer motorists meant light work for local police who patrolled New Year's Eve traffic.

Status of plane crash passengers unchanged

Two men injured in a plane crash near Rabbit Ears Pass Sunday are still being treated at Yampa Valley Medical Center. Steve Palmer, 22, and Lloyd "Skip" Moreau, 53, have not yet been released from the hospital.
