Steamboat Grand hires group sales executive

Cindy O'Gorman, a 16-year hotel industry veteran, has been named director of group and conference sales for the Steamboat Grand Resort Hotel and Conference Center.

O'Gorman most recently held the position of account executive for Summit Incentive Travel in Raleigh, N.C. The company is a leader in corporate incentive programs, including group travel to major sporting events. O'Gorman will be responsible for identifying and attracting small conventions and group business.

O'Gorman will report directly to Steamboat Vice President of Marketing Andy Wirth.

Superior Wealth Care leader earns CFP marks

Stephen J. Myler, CFP, president of Superior Wealth Care, Inc., in Steamboat Springs has been authorized by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc., to use the certification marks CFP. Myler specializes in comprehensive financial planning, investment advisory services and retirement planning.

The CFP marks identify those individuals who have met the rigorous experience and ethical requirements, have successfully completed financial planning coursework and have passed the CFP certification examination.

Orton foundation hires mapping coordinator

The Orton Family Foundation has named Sylvia Dennis as the new Yampa Valley Community Mapping Program Coordinator. Dennis will spend much of her first few weeks on the job learning more about the YVCMP and meeting teachers, students and community partners engaged in nearly 20 community mapping projects this school year.

Dennis will be responsible for providing logistical support to YVCMP project teams, coordinating the introduction of Geographic Information System (GIS) technology and providing opportunities for students to share their unique experiences with each other and the community.
