In my experience, among people who observe the secular aspects of Dec. 25, there are two kinds: those who open their packages the moment they are dropped on the front stoop, and those who wait until at least Christmas Eve to savage the wrapping paper. The Colorado Department of Transportation has calculated that about 8,000 vehicles pass through downtown Hayden on U.S. Highway 40 each day. The town of Hayden, the Hayden Chamber of Commerce and several supporting businesses and organizations agree that one of the best ways to advertise community events is to target these motorists by direct advertising.
