n A holiday open house is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Steamboat Lake State Park Visitor Center. Call 879-3922.

n The Routt Powder Riders Snowmobile Club will meet at 9:30 a.m. at the Muddy Creek parking lot on Rabbit Ears Pass to put up guide stakes on snowmobile trails.

n The Routt County Rifle Club's annual Turkey Shoot will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the club, two miles west of Steamboat on U.S. Highway 40. Call Corky Heid at 879-1257.

n Steamboat Springs' Jewish community group, Har Mishpacha, hosts a group ski day with Rabbi Goldman, meeting at 10 a.m. at the top of the gondola near the nondenominational worship site.

n Rummagers offers free pictures with Santa, hot apple cider and cookies from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the store. Call 870-6087.

n A book signing with Allison McNeill, author of "The Book of Gifts," is at 2 p.m. at Off the Beaten Path Bookstore.

n The public is invited to a docent-led tour of exhibitions at 2 p.m. at the Depot Art Center. Call 879-9008.

n Columbine Singers will present "A Mountain Town Holiday Concert" at 7 p.m. in the Steamboat Springs High School auditorium. Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for students and $1 for seniors and children younger than 12; they are available from chorale members or at the door.

n A broomball tournament for high school students is from 8:30 to 11:30 p.m. at Howelsen Ice Arena. Cost is $1 per player, and parents must sign a waiver if the participant is younger than 18.


n The Chancel Choir of the United Methodist Church will present a cantata for Christmas titled "Comfort and Joy", at 9:30 a.m. at the church at the corner of Eighth and Oak streets.

n "Hearts Accounted 4" will present a Christmas concert at 10 a.m. at the Steamboat Christian Center. Call 879-0063.

n A children's Christmas program will be presented at 10:30 a.m. at Hayden Congregational Church.

n United Methodist Church members will be Christmas carolling throughout downtown beginning at 5 p.m. Call 870-6778.

n Steamboat Springs' Jewish community group, Har Mishpacha, hosts a Hannukah party from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Olympian Hall. Bring either a side dish, dessert, brisket or potato latkes and a family menorah with candles. Each child should bring a small gift to exchange.
