The Pilot & Today seeks new board members
The Steamboat Pilot & Today is accepting applications for readers interested in serving on the newspaper's Editorial Board.
Two community members will be appointed to serve four-month terms on the board. Applications are due by Dec. 19. The terms will begin Jan. 1.
The newspaper Editorial Board includes publisher Suzanne Schlicht, editor Scott Stanford, city editor Melissa Roddy and reporter Tom Ross. Current community representatives are Paula Cooper Black and Jennifer Schubert-Akin. The board meets weekly and reaches consensus on the opinions expressed in the newspaper.
Those interested in serving should send a letter of no more than 500 words explaining why they would be a good choice for the board. Each application must include name, age, occupation and address.

Riders in the Sky
The famous singing cowboys, Riders in the Sky, will perform two holiday concerts Dec. 27 at the Sheraton Grand Ballroom, presented by Strings in the Mountains.
This is the first time the group will perform its holiday show in Steamboat, which features its well-known classics such as "Tumblin' Tumbleweeds" and "Cool, Cool Water" plus beloved holiday tunes such as "White Christmas," and its original song "Let It Snow/ The Last Christmas Medley You Will Ever Need to Hear."
A children's concert will be at 3:30 p.m.; tickets are $1 for ages 18 and younger and $15 for adults.
Tickets are $40 for an evening Holiday Gala, which includes a reception with hors d'oeuvres and champagne at 6:30 p.m., followed by the concert at 7:30. Tickets are on sale at the new Strings offices in Festival Park across from the Meadows parking lot, at All That Jazz or by calling 879-5056, ext. 100 or ext. 103.
