2 lawyers open practices at Sequoia
The Sequoia Building at 141 Ninth St. is home to two new legal practices. Margaret O'Donnell and Michele M. Desoer have opened separate practices in the historic building.
O'Donnell hopes to meet the needs of clients who are increasingly sensitive to formalizing and protecting the water rights that go with their properties.
"Routt County is one of the few places in Colorado with an abundance of water," O'Donnell said. "However, with the recent drought, people are becoming more concerned with protecting their water supply and obtaining legal water rights for their property."
O'Donnell has been practicing law with an emphasis on water rights, real estate law and natural resources law for a decade, both on Colorado's Front Range and the Western Slope. She can be reached at 879-2104.
Desoer also has defined a niche she believes is in demand in the region.
"I believe that my expertise in the employment and labor fields is unique among the attorneys in Northwest Colorado," she said.
Desoer was educated at the University of California at Berkley, and began practicing law in 1985 as an in-house attorney for CBS and Metro Goldwyn-Mayer.
"I provide a wide range of legal services including litigation and counseling in the commercial and employment areas among others. I have significant experience also with arbitrations, mediations and appeals," Desoer said.
Desoer can be reached at 879-8494.
