Zopf named to dean's list at Bates College

Jason Zopf, a 2001 graduate of Steamboat Springs High School, was named to the dean's list for the fall and spring semesters at Bates College in Lewiston, Maine. Zopf, who is a sophomore, is a pre-med major.

Registration available for African dancing

Registration is under way for African dance classes. Fall classes will take place Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning Sept. 2. Beginner classes will be from 5 to 6:15 p.m. and intermediate from 6:15 to 7:30 p.m. Register at Colorado Mountain College or call The Center for Movement Arts at 870-9977.

CMC holds registration for fitness classes

Fitness class registration now taking place for CMC's fall semester. Scheduled classes are:

Weight training I -- two classes per week, either 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, noon to 1 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays or 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays.

Weight training II -- 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays.

Circuit aerobic weight training -- 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Low-impact aerobics -- 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Dynamic workout (cardio and strength) -- 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Wednesdays and Fridays.

Volleyball -- learn the game 3 to 5 p.m. Wednesdays.

Cost is $41.00 for in-district, and the classes run the week of Aug. 25 to Dec. 12. Call 870-7942.

Afterschool Action
