Deadline for early ski passes extended

Today is the deadline to purchase season ski passes at discount prices at Steamboat Ski and Resort Corp. Customers are welcome to purchase passes in person or remotely, including at the Steamboat main ticket office in Gondola Square. The deadline is midnight.

Registration begins for African dance classes

Registration is under way for African dance classes. Fall classes will take place Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning Sept. 2. Beginner classes will be from 5 to 6:15 p.m. and intermediate from 6:15 to 7:30 p.m. Register at Colorado Mountain College or call The Center for Movement Arts at 870-9977.

CMC's fitness class

registration is under way

Fitness class registration now taking place for CMC's fall semester. Scheduled classes are:

Weight training I -- two classes per week, either 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. Tuesday and Thursday, noon to 1 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays or 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays.

Weight training II -- 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays

Circuit aerobic weight training -- 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays

Low-impact aerobics -- 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays

Dynamic workout (cardio and strength) -- 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Wednesdays and Fridays

Volleyball -- learn the game 3 to 5 p.m. Wednesdays

Cost is $41.00 for in-district, and the classes run the week of Aug. 25 to Dec. 12. Call 870-7942.

Soup Bowl Supper tickets on sale for Sept. 9 event

Tickets are on sale for the second annual Steamboat Clay Artisans' Soup Bowl Supper, a major fund-raiser for LIFT-UP of Routt County. The supper will be held Sept. 9 at the Depot arts center. The event features handmade ceramic bowls that will be filled with gourmet soup provided by several restaurants. There will be three seatings, at 5, 6:15 and 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $17 and include soup, bread, dessert, beverage, the ceramic soup bowl to take home and a chance at other ceramic creations in a door prize drawing. A silent auction also will be available for larger ceramic pieces. Advance tickets are available at the LIFT-UP Thrift Store, the Depot, The Buzz and Potter's Wheel. Call 870-0727.

Registration for the Afterschool Action program is under way. Packets are available at the Steamboat Springs Parks and Recreation office, 245 Howelsen Parkway. Call 879-4300.

Breast cancer group

seeks volunteers

The Yampa Valley Breast Cancer Awareness Project is looking for committee members. The nonprofit group raises funds for uninsured and underinsured women who are fighting breast cancer. Call Debbie Curd at 871-7300.
