Museum offers new
kid-oriented game
The Tread of Pioneers Museum now offers "Tread" treasure hunts for children. Whenever children visit the museum to tour with their parents, they will be given a map and clues to finding different interesting pieces of historical information contained in the museum. When they've answered all the questions on their treasure hunt, they can pick a prize.
Arts Council looking
for Beaux Arts singers
The Steamboat Springs Arts Council is looking for singers to participate in the Steamboat Springs Beaux Arts Festival Symphony Concert. The concert will be conducted by Richard Niezen at 7 p.m. Aug. 16 at Headwall. The concert will be followed by fireworks.
The concert is a collaboration of the Steamboat Springs Chamber Orchestra and vocalists from the Emerald City Opera, as well as musicians from the Colorado Symphony Orchestra, Greeley Philharmonic and the Aurora Symphony, among others.

Youth football registration now under way
Registration is under way for the city of Steamboat Springs' youth football program for children in third through sixth grades. The program runs from late August through mid-October. Third- and fourth-graders play flag football; cost is $45. Fifth- and sixth-graders play tackle football; cost is $65. Forms are available at the Parks and Recreation office. Call 879-4300.
Arts Council taking
applications for show
The Steamboat Springs Arts Council is accepting applications from Colorado artists for a one-person or small group show at the Eleanor Bliss Center for the Arts at The Depot in Steamboat Springs, CO. Exhibit dates are Feb. 13-March 21, 2004. Dates for private exhibits in our Small Works Gallery will be determined in August. Creative cars sought
for Art Car Stampede
Owners of "art cars," cars that have been painted creatively or otherwise transformed into works of art, are asked to participate in the Art Car Stampede during the Beaux Arts festival Aug. 15 and 16. Participants will be eligible for a $500 People's Choice award. Call 870-6323.
Applications available for newspaper Editorial Board
The Steamboat Pilot & Today is accepting applications for readers interested in serving on the newspaper's Editorial Board.
