Steamboat's Class of '83 reunion begins Friday
The Class of 1983 at Steamboat Springs High School will hold its reunion this weekend.
Events include a tour of the high school at 4:30 p.m. Friday, followed by dinner and drinks at Seasons at the Pond at 6:30 p.m. There is a barbecue from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at Euzoa Bible Church and a play day at Steamboat Lake from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Historic designation
applications available
Applications for designation to the Routt County Register of Historic Properties are available in the Routt County Board of Commissioners' office in the courthouse annex. Applications are due Aug. 22. If you have questions or want an e-mail application, call 879-0108, Ext. 314.
Afterschool Action begins registration today
Registration for the Afterschool Action program will begin today. Packets are available at the Steamboat Springs Parks and Recreation office, 245 Howelsen Parkway. Call 879-4300.
Karate academy starts
its fall registration
The Rocky Mountain Karate Academy is starting its fall registration for ages 6 to 12 from 4 to 5 p.m. Aug. 13 at The Center for Movement Arts. Call Michael David at 846-0574.
Arts Council presents Artists' Studio Tour
The Steamboat Springs Arts Council presents an Artists' Studio Tour on Aug. 9. There are more than 18 artists participating.
The focus of the tour is artists living and working along the historic Twentymile loop between Steamboat and Hayden. For more information or reservations, call the Steamboat Springs Arts Council at 879-9008.
Youth Festival II runs Thursday and Friday
Perry-Mansfield's final performances of this season are Thursday and Friday with the Youth Festival II.
The festival includes a dance concert of ballet, modern and jazz pieces, along with an original theatrical performance titled Tamba!, based on African folk tales, songs, dances and drumming. The shows are at 7:30 p.m. in the Julie Harris Theatre. Call 879-7125 for tickets or information.
Breast cancer group
seeks volunteers
The Yampa Valley Breast Cancer Awareness Project is looking for committee members. The nonprofit group raises funds for uninsured and underinsured women who are fighting breast cancer. Call Debbie Curd at 871-7300.
