Weather dampens schedule
Friday, April 18, 2003
The Steamboat Springs girls lacrosse games scheduled for this weekend have been postponed until April 29.
Wet conditions over the past several days have made the fields unplayable, Steamboat Springs High School Athletics Director Bruce Crowhurst said.
Forecasts have called for continued precipitation and playing on the fields would only damage the surfaces.
The Sailors originally were scheduled to host Green Mountain on Friday at 4 p.m. and Wheat Ridge today at 11 a.m.
Both games have been moved to the Front Range on April 29. Steamboat will play Wheat Ridge at 4 p.m. and Green Mountain at 6 p.m. at the North Area Athletic Complex in Golden.
Steamboat's baseball team will take on Rifle today as scheduled. The doubleheader starts at 11 a.m. at the Moffat County Middle School in Craig.
