Kenneth and Carol Rhodes left for Grand Junction as of late to seek warmer climates. They will be in Grand Junction for a while before going on to a much warmer area to spend the cold winter months.
Marcia Atwood, daughter Michelle and granddaughter Avery were in Hayden over the weekend. They enjoyed seeing their many old friends at the volleyball game and attended a baby shower for Michelle's dear friend Dawn Rae Brown.
Edna Otis has been a patient at Yampa Valley Medical Center for several days after suffering a fall that seriously injured her shoulder. We wish you to be well soon, Edna!
The Dave Hainault family has sold their home in Golden Meadows and are now in the process of relocating.
The Haven Assisted Living Facility held the monthly birthday party last Saturday afternoon. September birthdays celebrated were for Ellen Bullard, Billie Hotchkiss and Kathy Lozinsky. Liza Zirkle entertained everyone after refreshments with piano music.
Derek Stephenson celebrated his 19th birthday Sept. 20 with cake and ice cream for family and friends.
Marie Hayes is back home again following a few weeks' stay at Doak Walker Care Center in Steamboat Springs.
Mr. and Mrs. Tim Rolando hosted a birthday party last week honoring Tammy Hagar and Rebecca Rolando. A spaghetti diner was enjoyed by family and friends.
Wilma Hayes is now employed by the Hayden school at the school cafeteria.
Correction: In last week's article on the death of Alice Riggott Roland, there should not have been an "o" to make this name Rolando instead of Roland.
Ruby Wright and her daughter, Juanita Erickson, were here from Grand Junction last weekend to celebrate Ruby's 100th birthday. On Friday, Sept. 20, her actual birthday, she attended lunch at the Haven with other senior friends. These friends presented her a lovely multicolored bouquet of roses. On Saturday, she was honored with a potluck dinner at the Legion Hall. Forty family members and close friends were present to wish her the best. Her cake boasted an imaged baby picture in the center. The Rebekah Lodge presented Ruby a plaque of gold coins for 40-plus years of service. Before her trip to Hayden, this fine lady was honored at a private party by family in Grand Junction. Congratulations Ruby on your 100th birthday.
