Business Briefs: Johnston to lead Craig Daily Press

Samantha Johnston has been named publisher of the Craig Daily Press. Johnston was previously general manager for the Daily Press, and has been with the newspaper since September 2000.

Johnston, 27, is a native of Northwest Colorado and graduated from Colorado State University in 1999 with a degree in journalism.

Johnston began her career with WorldWest Limited Liability Company, parent company of the Daily Press, when she joined the staff of the Steamboat Pilot & Today in May 1999.

As publisher, Johnston will oversee the day-to-day operations of the editorial, advertising and circulation departments of the Daily Press.

Bryna Larsen, who previously served as publisher of the Daily Press, was promoted to regional director of advertising in January. In this role, she manages the advertising departments of the Daily Press and its sister newspaper Steamboat Pilot & Today.

"We are fortunate to have Samantha and Bryna as leaders in our newspaper organization," said Suzanne Schlicht, regional manager and Steamboat Pilot & Today publisher. "They have a strong commitment to providing quality news and advertising for our readers and business customers."
