1927-2002
Jay Charles Outsen, 75, died Sept. 12, 2002, in Salt Lake City.
He was born May 7, 1927, in Denver to James and Clara Boyle Outsen. He married LuEtta Squire in 1944. A Navy veteran of World War II, Jay was a member of American Legion Post 71. He was employed for 33 years at Safeway stores and enjoyed bowling and golf.
He is survived by his wife, "Ettie"; children Lon, Randy (Anne), Russ (Sue), Jalyn and Julie, all of Salt Lake City; Cheryl (Ernie) Heyborne of Cedar City and Matt (Deanna) of Cache Valley; 16 grandchildren; three great-grandsons; and sister Carla (Doug) Kelly of Mesquite, Nev.
A visitation was from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 21, 2002, at Neil O'Donnell and Sons Mortuary. A celebration of life followed at the American Legion Post 71. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to American Legion Post 71, Salt Lake City, Utah 84115.
