Steamboat Springs — The two survivors in a one-vehicle rollover accident in South Routt that left two dead are in serious condition at the Denver Health Medical Center.

Sarah Burt, 19, of Steamboat Springs, suffered a neck injury in the accident. Daniel Carver, 18, of Stagecoach suffered injuries to his back, head, wrist and leg, according to a hospital spokesman.

No other details on their injuries were available.

The group was traveling north on Colorado 131 early Sunday morning, returning from a party near State Bridge when the accident occurred.

Adam G. Nollman, 24, of Silverthorne was driving a black sports utility vehicle when he lost control and rolled it into a ditch near Toponas in South Routt County, said Colorado State Patrol Trooper Brad Keedle, who is investigating the accident.

Keedle said Nollman was driving in the wrong lane and apparently overcorrected.

The vehicle began to spin and went off the road.

The accident was estimated to have happened at 4:30 a.m., however, the Colorado State Patrol was not called to the scene until 6:43 a.m.

"What caused him to go in the left lane, we don't know," Keedle said.

There were no skid marks indicating Nollman was swerving to miss wildlife, but he could have fallen asleep, Keedle said.

Nollman and Cheyne M. Gallagher, 22, of Steamboat were ejected from the vehicle, and both suffered fatal injuries.

Gallagher was sitting in the back seat with Burt.

No one in the vehicle was wearing a seatbelt, Keedle said.

The Routt County Coroner's Office has ordered an autopsy and a toxicology test which will be released later this week.
