Kalina Copeland is the proud mother of a baby girl. She has been named Shayleigh Rae Copeland. The little miss weighed 7 pounds, 5 ounces and was 19 inches long. The baby was born Nov. 11, 2002, at Yampa Valley Medical Center in Steamboat Springs. Her maternal grandparents are Walt and Penny Copeland of Hayden. Her paternal grandparents are James Mounce of Chicago, Ill., and Norma Cowger of DuQuoin, Ill. Her maternal great-grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Balsick of Falcon. Mother Kalina underwent an appendectomy before she brought baby Shayleigh home.
Roger Steele and son Scott from Grand Junction were here last week to hunt. They enjoyed staying and visiting friends while here.
Clarence Ludaman was here last week from Grand Junction to visit his daughter, Holley, and her family. He also enjoyed hunting.
Ilda Booco underwent surgery on her shoulder a week ago last Tuesday at Yampa Valley Medical Center. She is still recuperating at her home.
Donna Hellyer, Jackie Heuer, Denice Adams, Chris Johnson, Kathy Johnson, Mary Lyn Bailey, Danielle Adams and Millie Hellyer returned home last Tuesday from a wonderful trip to Aruba for two weeks.
Kathy Smith underwent major surgery at Yampa Valley Medical Center last Wednesday. At this writing, she is still hospitalized.
The Haven celebrated the month of November birthdays Nov. 16. Those being honored were: Sally Oliveto, Bill Pero, Barbara MacMillan and Kathy Enes. The entertainment was Lisa Zirkle at the piano with songbird Mary Bridges accompanying her.
Correction: Week before last the daughter of Charlie and Christine Epp was not correctly spelled. It should have been Leisha, not Lisa. So sorry about that!
