Denver The Steamboat Sailors ran their record to 28-1 Friday with two wins at the state volleyball tournament.
Steamboat, the No. 1 seed in Pool B, defeated Windsor 15-10, 15-13 in the opening match. They then rebounded from a tough loss in the first game to win the next two and the match against Summit County. Steamboat downed Summit 16-18, 15-6, 15-3.
Steamboat has one more match today against Lewis-Palmer, the No. 2 seed in Pool B. Lewis-Palmer defeated Summit County in pool play and must play Windsor Saturday after playing Steamboat later today.
With two wins, Steamboat will likely advance to Saturday's semifinals. If Steamboat beats Lewis-Palmer, they are guaranteeed to advance. The top two teams from each pool advance to Saturday's semifinals.
