Catherine Dorothy Draper Wright Drake Uhl, 92, died April 22, 2002, in Steamboat Springs, at Yampa Valley Medical Center, surrounded by her family.

Cay was born July 31, 1909, in New York to Elizabeth Lee Steen-Hopkins and Charles Lennox Wright. She grew up with three sisters in Manhattan and Bayside. She married George B. Drake Jr. in March 1933.

The Drakes started married life in Bayside and then moved to Manhasset, Sands Point and Port Washington. After two years in Connecticut, they returned to Long Island and in 1974 built a home in Cutchogue where Cay lived until this spring. Following the loss of George Drake in 1984, Cay married Robert Uhl. Bob Uhl died in 1987.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her three sons, her husbands and two sisters. Cay is survived by a younger sister; two daughters, Martha Drake (Chris) Young of Steamboat Springs and Elizabeth Drake (Buzzy) Hassrick of Cody, Wyo., formerly of Steamboat Springs; her five grandchildren, George Chapman (Chip) Young II and Mary Young Swanson, both graduates of Steamboat Springs High School, Catherine Young Alexander, Philip Hassrick and Charles Hassrick, born in Steamboat Springs.
