PETER KALWAITIS

1942-2002

Peter Kalwaitis was born June 13, 1942, at McGregor, and passed away May 11, 2002, in Steamboat Springs. Pete's parents were Pete B. and Maxine M. Kalwaitis. Pete attended school at Steamboat Springs. He was married to Linda Edgar and had four children: Kelly, Robert, Colleen and Stephanie.

After his military tour, which included Vietnam, Peter was a fireman and EMT at Junction City, Kan. where he touched many lives often at a risk to his own life.

He spent the last 25 plus years in and around Steamboat Springs and worked at various jobs. Peter loved the outdoor life and setting up and enjoying a hunting camp was something he anticipated yearly. He liked fishing but didn't like people fishing close to him.

Pete was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, Floyd and Mary McFarland, Tone and Mary Kalwaitis, and an infant brother, Floyd.

He is survived by his children, two sisters, Gerry and Trudy, and also two brothers, Dean and Terry and six grandchildren.

Peter will be missed by all his friends and family. May God let him rest in peace.

A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. May 14, 2002, at Grant Mortuary in Craig.
