TOWN TALK: HAYDEN

Janice Muhme hosted a PartyLite party at her home May 3 in the evening. Many guests enjoyed learning about decorating with glowing candles and beautiful accessories. Janice served lovely refreshments and fun games were also played. The sales representative was Joann Schuler.

Tom Kostur and Sam Barnes returned home from a 10-day successful turkey hunt last week. While in Missouri, they were guests of Tom's friends who trek to Colorado for big-game hunting every year.

A dance recital was held last Saturday evening at the Hayden High School auditorium. For all who attended, it was delightful to watch the youngsters perform. Instructor for the dancers is Tamara Bereznak.

On Monday morning, May 6, the fifth-grade teachers Mrs. Jezo and Mrs. Bush hosted a biography brunch at the exhibit hall in Hayden for parents, grandparents and writing partners. Each student went forward with his or her partner to speak briefly about some of the highlights in the lives of the partners. A lovely brunch prepared by the teachers and mothers of the children was enjoyed by more than 100 folks able to attend.

Diane Girty attended a seminar May 2 in Vail for employees associated with assisted-living facilities. She reports that it was a very informative meeting.

Scott Mader underwent major surgery at Presbyterian/St. Lukes Hospital in Denver May 3. He is very happy to now be home and doing very well at this time.

Mona Weaver, Cindy Leck, Suzie Copeland, Roberta Pero and Jackie Boyd, all employees and director of the Hayden Public Library, attended a seminar May 1-3 in Winter Park.

Mel Richardson recently returned home from a job-related trip to Utah.

Nancy Brandenburg has returned home from a trip to Arizona, where she visited a friend who has been seriously ill.

Memorial services were held Monday at the Baptist Church in Steamboat for Fred Guire of Craig, who passed away very suddenly from an apparent heart attack.
