— The Hayden High School jazz band director, Todd Sargent, entertained the seniors at The Haven last Tuesday afternoon. It was greatly appreciated.

Donna Hellyer hosted a birthday celebration for granddaughter, Millie, last Sunday afternoon. Guests were the entire Hellyer clan.

Kelly Potter and children were here last weekend from Denver to be with her family and also for the lacrosse games in which her oldest son participated.

The Scott Mader family was in Denver last week where Scott received medical attention.

The Hayden junior/senior prom was held last Saturday, April 25, at the elementary gym. The theme for this year was "They Walk to Remember." Kyle Monger was crowned king and Amy Ott was queen. The junior class was pleased that the crowd enjoyed the evening of dance and all around good time. The after-prom party at the exhibit hall was great. Everyone had a nice time and the prizes were super. For all who put forth so much effort to keep the children occupied and safe need commended on a job well done.

Mr. and Mrs. Audi Harper were here last weekend from Salt Lake City to spend a few days with friends.

Carol Rickman recently enjoyed a visit from Linda Harris, who now makes her home in Indiana with her father.

Mr. and Mrs. Roger Olson returned home this past week following an enjoyable winter at their home in Mesquite, Nev.

The Hayden Critter Club delivered May Day carnations to the senior citizens in Hayden last Tuesday evening. This is one of their community pride projects. The seniors are always ever so pleased with the thoughtfulness and work that goes into the delightful May baskets.

Memorial services were held at 11 a.m. April 27, 2002, at the Hayden Cemetery for Samuel DeLuca. He was born Nov. 28, 1927, in Salida and died April 18, 2002, in Fort Collins. Wayne DeLuca and officers of the Hayden American Legion Post officiated. Pallbearers were: Herb Montieth, David Parrott, Dan Peters, Sam Montieth, George Montieth and Marty Blevins. Honorary were: Jim Flemming, Ed Montieth, Fran Rutherford, Jim Montieth and Will Montieth. Friends and family gathered at the home of Lyn and Kathy Blevins for a luncheon after the services.
