Mego Financial buys Raintree
LAS VEGAS Las Vegas based Mego Financial Corp. has announced it has signed a letter of intent to acquire Raintreee Resorts International Inc.
Mego operates in Colorado as Preferred Equities Corp. and operates the Ramada Vacation Suites in Steamboat Springs, where it sells interval ownership in its vacation condominiums.
Raintree is focused on the upscale and luxury segments of the "vacation ownership business," with resorts in Mexico, Palm Springs, Las Vegas, Jackson Hole and Whistler, British Columbia.
Hospitality Ball set for April 8
Steamboat's annual Hospitality Ball will be held from 6 to 11 p.m. April 8 at the Steamboat Grand.
Nominations for the Hospitality Awards should be sent to Kathy Coates at the Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association. Also, residents can drop off Star of Steamboat cards.

Next chamber mixer Wednesday
The Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association has announced the schedule of chamber mixers the next several months.
The next mixer will be Wednesday and is sponsored by First Impressions of Routt County. Other mixers include May 22, Cook Chevrolet, June 5, Sheraton, and Sept. 4, Steamboat Mental Health.
Packaging to cost Coors millions
GOLDEN (AP) Adolph Coors Co. expects to spend about $118 million under a packaging agreement with a Graphic Packaging International Corp. unit this fiscal year, according to a Form 10-K filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The company spent about $125 million on purchases under this agreement in fiscal 2001.
Coors said it has started negotiations with the Graphic Packaging unit to extend the contract, which expires this year.
