Buntain

Bob and June Buntain were married June 27, 1942, in the Forked River New Jersey Presbyterian Church in Army dress uniform, prior to being shipped overseas with General Patton’s 4th Armored Division in World War II. There was no honeymoon as the couple had to drive right after the reception to Pine Camp (now Fort Drum) near Watertown, N.Y., where the 4th Armored Division was being formed.

Bob and June’s 60th anniversary was celebrated at the Boulder Dinner Theater enjoying its production of “Paint Your Wagon.”

They have been residents of Steamboat Springs since 1971, when LTV Corp. transferred Bob from Kauai, Hawaii, to the Steamboat Springs ski area as lift maintenance foreman. He retired in 1985.

June worked 14 years with the Steamboat Pilot as a proofreader. They now spend the winter months in West Palm Beach, Fla.
