Kent V. Fletcher, 35, died June 26, 2002, at his home in North Routt County.
He was born Sept. 16, 1966, in North Bend, Ore.
Kent was a retired sergeant of the U.S. Marine Corps having served in Okinawa, Japan, as the editor of the El Toro Marine Base Newspaper in California and as the public relations officer for the Wisconsin Marine Recruiting office in Milwaukee during Desert Storm.
He had been a mechanic for and a member of the North Routt Fire Department. Kent was a 1985 graduate of Steamboat Springs High School.
He is survived by his wife, Leah, and parents, Van and Katie Fletcher, of Steamboat Springs; a sister, Julie Brewen of Fort Collins; his mother-in-law, Marcia Lund, and father-in-law, Darrell Lidwin.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the North Routt Fire District or the Steamboat Springs Animal Shelter, both in care of Grant Mortuary, 621 Yampa Ave., Craig, 81625.
Memorial services were held July 2, 2002, at the Glen Eden Resort (Lower Glen) in Clark.
