OAK CREEK, YAMPA SET FOR APRIL VOTES
The towns of Oak Creek and Yampa will hold their municipal elections April 2 and people interested in running for open seats on the town boards have less than a week to make a decision.
Those who wish to run for office must be at least 18 years old and live with town limits.
Petitions for office in Yampa and Oak Creek can be picked up at the respective town hall and must be returned by March 1.
Petitions must be signed by at least 10 registered voters who live with town limits.
The mayors of Oak Creek and Yampa serve two-year terms, while trustees of both towns serve four-year terms.
Five trustee positions are open on the Oak Creek Town Board. The sixth trustee seat cannot be contested until the next municipal election in two years.
Three spots on the Yampa Town Board, two of which are held by Dick Rudeen and Bruce Pitts and the third still vacant, are up for election.
