U.S. holds third place in Nordic combined event

Cross country skiing portion of the team event to be held Sunday


The U.S. Nordic combined team held on to third place Saturday in Olympic competition after the jumping portion of the event.

Finland is in first place with Austria just 44 seconds behind them and the U.S. team one minute and 34 seconds behind Austria.

The U.S. Nordic combined team is made up of Todd Lodwick, Matt Dayton, Johnny Spillane and Bill Demong.

The teams will compete in the cross country portion of the event at 1 p.m. Sunday.
