Steamboat Springs Steamboat rallied in the fourth quarter Saturday night to beat Glenwood Springs 61-50.
Down by two points at the half and tied at 44 with the Demons in the early minutes of the fourth quarter, the Sailors got a spark from point guard Jeff Aragon, who helped take his team on a 17-6 run to close out the game.
Aragon, who had been sidelined because of an ankle injury, had just two points in the last six minutes of play, but Sailors coach Kelly Meek said he picked up the pace of his teammates in the final minutes.
The Sailors started a major separation from the Demons when Cody Sherril hit a three pointer. In the next possession the ball found its way inside to Ryan Scheer who scored. That series gave Steamboat an 11-point lead.
Scheer and Alex Mackey dominated the inside. Scheer finished the night with 21 points and Mackey followed with 19. Mackey had 14 rebounds and Scheer had 10.
