Town of Hayden applies for outdoors grant for park
Tuesday, February 5, 2002
Hayden A substantial grant from Great Outdoors Colorado funds could get the town of Hayden moving on its master plan for Dry Creek Park and help youngsters in need of a place to play.
The Hayden Town Board will review an application for the $150,000 grant Thursday evening.
The funding would help to extend a water line to the Dry Creek Park area and construct the first of two soccer fields proposed in the master plan.
"Basically, we're following the guidelines of the master plan," Hayden Town Manager Rob Straebel said. "If the first phase is to be this, it would be a big chunk."
The town needs to start on the infrastructure of its master plan first, Town Trustee Richard "Festus" Hagins said.
