JAMES SLAWINSKI JR.

1961-2002

James Slawinski Jr. died Jan. 22, 2002. He was 40.

James was born May 25, 1961, in Denver to James Leo and Delores Joan (Thiry) Slawinski Sr. He was raised and attended school in Englewood. Jim joined the Marines and served for two years. Following his discharge, he lived in various places, including Winter Haven, Fla., were he did stucco work.

He then moved to Craig where he worked for Bowstrings and also did some housekeeping in Steamboat. He then moved to Oak Creek and most recently Steamboat Springs, where he worked at the hospital in housekeeping and for a carpet cleaning business. At the time of his death, he was working for Resorts Laundry.

He enjoyed fishing, camping and playing darts.

He is survived by a son, James C. Apple of Ohio; his mother and stepfather, Delores Hart and Charley Hart of Craig; six sisters, Elizabeth Flint of Englewood, Theresa Lowther of Denver, Sandra Davis of Denver, Rose Nogues of Durango, Sylvia Alcorn of Walden and Ruth Bell of Craig; three brothers, Joseph Slawinski of Lakeland, Fla., Daniel Slawinski of Denver and Josh Hart of Craig; two grandmothers, Viola Thiry of Michigan and Rose Slawinski of California; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Leo Slawinski Sr.

A memorial service was at 1 p.m. Jan. 29, 2002, at Grant Mortuary. Father Ernest Bayer and officers of the VFW Post 4265 officiated.
