Leslie Peschel Gregory of Steamboat Springs died Nov. 29, 2002. She was 53.
Leslie was born May 18, 1949, in Passaic, N.J., to Robert and Carol Peschel. She was raised in Nutley, N.J., and graduated from school there. She graduated from George Peabody College for Teachers, which has since become part of Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn. She also earned a master's degree in problems of early childhood. She was a special education teacher in the elementary grades.
Leslie had lived in Steamboat Springs for six years. She enjoyed skiing, hiking, biking and being outdoors.
She was a member of Routt County Search and Rescue and Concordia Lutheran Church. She was a Steamboat Mountain Ambassador.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Peschel.
Survivors include her husband, Ferrell "Greg" Gregory of Steamboat Springs; a daughter, Liana Gregory of Boulder; a sister, Ellen Fiedler of Summerville, S.C.; and her mother, Carol Peschel of Summerville, S.C.
A memorial service was held Dec. 7, 2002, at Concordia Lutheran Church.
