Longtime Yampa resident Gladys M. Moore died Nov. 18, 2002, in Yuma, Ariz. She was 92.
Gladys was born Dec. 3, 1909, in Shawnee, Okla., to C.E. and Shirley Margerum. In 1912, Gladys and her family moved to Yampa, where Gladys spent most of the next 86 years of her life.
She graduated Yampa High School in 1927 and then Barnes Business School in Denver in 1929.
Gladys was active in the Yampa area, teaching Sunday school, working as a secretary and participating in the Yampa Ladies Aide.
She married Francis Moore in 1934. The couple enjoyed working on their ranch outside of Yampa, fishing and other outdoor activities.
In 1998, Gladys and Francis moved to Yuma, Ariz., where she enjoyed the sunshine and warm Arizona weather.
Her son, Wesley G. Moore, preceded Gladys in death.
She is survived by her husband; her daughter, Rita Herold; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
