Chews celebrating 50th anniversary

On Aug. 15, 1952, Dean Chew of Jensen married Laura Hacking of Maeser in a garden ceremony at the home of the bride's parents (the late Ferron and Louesa Hacking).

Following a two-week honeymoon through the Western states, the couple returned to Jensen and started a new life together in a sheep camp at the Chew Ranch. Dean was in the ranching business with his father and mother, Doug and Eleanor Chew.

Fifty years later, the couple is still at the Chew Ranch in the ranching business with their four sons. Their posterity now includes four sons, three daughters (Doak Chew of Clark; Scott and Tami Chew; Renee and Russ Steele; Alan and Grace Chew, all of Jensen, Utah; Queeda and Bill Baldwin of Mitchell, Neb.; Neil Chew of Maybell; Ladean and Brenaman Bitner of Grantsville, Utah; 21 grandchildren and three ranches in Utah and Colorado.

The children and Dean and Laura would like to invite all friends and family to help celebrate their golden anniversary from 2 to 4 p.m. Aug. 17 at the Jensen Chapel, U.S. 40 in Jensen. Come and reminisce and please bring no gifts.
