William A. Campbell Jr.
1921-2002
William A. Campbell Jr., 81, a resident of Albuquerque, N.M., died peacefully July 28, 2002.
Mr. Campbell was born June 26, 1921, in Steamboat Springs to William A. and Gertrude R. Campbell. He was a graduate of Steamboat Springs High School and the University of Colorado at Boulder.
Mr. Campbell was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in WWII. He was a career employee with the U.S. Forest Service.
He is survived by his son, Van Campbell and wife Teresa; grandchildren Bradley Campbell and Austin Campbell, all of Bellevue, Wash.; niece Paula Campbell of Albuquerque; and nephews Bill Higbee and Art Higbee, both of Steamboat Springs.
Services were held Thursday, Aug. 1, 2002, at 1 p.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE, with Father Jim McGowan officiating. Interment followed at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the charity of your choice.
