Gorman opens consulting firm
Steamboat Springs businessman Frank Gorman has announced the formation of Pacific West Consulting, an advisory and consulting firm for small-business owners.

Mason & Morse Real Estate has been selected as a member of Leading Estates of the World, an international real estate networking firm that publishes the estate magazine of the same name.

Alpine Bank earns top 50 rating
Alpine Bank has been rated among the top 50 banks in the nation by the American Bankers Association Banking Journal.
Alpine Bank was rated among the top 50 for banks with between $100 million and $1 billion in assets. The rating was based upon the bank's average end-of-year return on equity from 1997 through 2001.
Xcel schedules open house
Xcel Energy will host an open house Wednesday at the Yampa Valley Electric Association office, 32 10th St., to discuss the company's plans for a new transmission line in the area.
The meeting is from 2 to 7 p.m. Residents will be able to ask questions and offer input on placement of the line.
