No license needed to fish June 2-3
There are more than 6,000 miles of streams and more than 2,000 lakes and reservoirs open to public fishing in Colorado and anglers can fish any one of them without a fishing license the first weekend of June.
The Colorado Division of Wildlife is waiving its requirements to have a valid fishing license during the first weekend in June in hopes that young people will be introduced to fishing.
In addition to allowing people to fish without a license that weekend, the DOW is co-sponsoring a number of children's fishing clinics.
For information about kids fishing clinics in your area, contact the local Division of Wildlife office at 870-2197.
Watch for allergy symptoms in pets
Humans aren't the only ones to suffer from allergies, according to veterinarians at Colorado State University. Pets are allergy sufferers as well.
"The most common signs of allergies in dogs and cats have more to do with itchy skin and ears than respiratory problems," said Dr. Rod Rosychuk, a dermatologist at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital. "Excessive scratching, chewing or biting are indications that your pet may be afflicted with allergies.
"It's a good idea to check with your veterinarian if your pet is exhibiting signs of allergies," Rosychuk said.
