Rotary Club honors local students

Steamboat Springs The Steamboat Springs Rotary Club honored Ben Beall as its March student of the month.
Ben is a senior at Steamboat Springs High School where he is treasurer of the Student Council, president of the National Honor Society, and co-chairperson of the Assets Committee.
Ben has been a member of the varsity soccer team, the Knowledge Bowl and Future Business Leaders of America, where he achieved first place in district and fifth place in state entrepreneurship competitions.
Ben is ranked second in his class.
He has taken the most rigorous math and science classes offered by the school and this year is taking higher level math at Colorado Mountain College.
Last year he attended the High School Honors Institute of Engineering and Applied Science Competition at the University of Colorado in Boulder, as well as Colorado State University Math Day where he competed against many of the brightest students in the state.
After graduation, Ben hopes to attend either University of Colorado or the University of California-Berkeley to pursue a career in civil engineering.
Steamboat Springs Rotary Club also honored Ryan Kiely as the February student of the month.
Ryan is a senior at Christian Heritage School where he has been an outstanding student, athlete and role model.
He has been on the honor role every semester of his high school career and is currently second in his class.
He served as Student Council secretary/treasurer for two years and is currently the Senior Class president.
Ryan has been a three-year varsity letterman in both basketball and baseball.
He received All-Conference honorable mention in basketball last year.
Ryan coached Tee-ball during the summer of 1999 and was a volunteer construction worker during the building of Christian Heritage School.
This year he is a weekly Bible study leader for Hayden students, helping those who are still experiencing the loss of their mutual friend, Jared Faucett.
After graduation, Ryan hopes to attend either Texas Christian University or Westmont College, pursuing a business degree.
