Man pleads guilty to slapping stepdaughter

Steamboat Springs A 44-year-old Oak Creek man was fined $138 and ordered to meet with a therapist for slapping his stepdaughter.
On Tuesday, Noel Lane Miller pleaded guilty to misdemeanor harassment in Routt County Judge James Garrecht's courtroom.
In return to his guilty plea, Miller was given a one-year deferred judgment, meaning the conviction will be dismissed if he stays out of trouble with the law for a year.
Miller pleaded guilty to the charge for slapping his 14-year-old stepdaughter in the face the evening of April 21, court records show.
Miller was arrested by Oak Creek Police the night of the incident and booked into the Routt County Jail. He later posted a $750 bond.
Along with having to pay a fine, Miller has been ordered to receive family and parenting therapy.
