STUDENT GOVERNMENT DAY LOOKS AT LOCAL LEADERS

STEAMBOAT SPRINGSStudent Government Day is set aside for Steamboat Springs High School students to take a closer look inside their local government. From 8:30 to 9:15 a.m. April 9, students will be presented with a city and county introduction. From 9:30 to 11 a.m., all students will go to Centennial Hall to learn about the municipal court. From 11:10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., 13 different department heads will have a group of students following them. Lunch from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. will be at the Old Town Pub with Routt County and city officials, mayors and town managers.

STUDENT TO ATTEND NATIONAL HEALTH SEMINAR

STEAMBOAT SPRINGSMeredith Geldmeier, class of 2002 at Christian Heritage School, has been selected to participate in the National Student Leadership Conference on Medicine and Health Care, an extraordinary leadership development program for outstanding students. This summer, about 200 high school students from across the country and from 35 countries around the world will study the "distinctions of leadership." The conference includes prominent political leaders that help create a sense of reality and bring current and international issues to life.
