Memorial dance for Tumminello

MEMORIAL DANCE FOR TUMMINELLO

STEAMBOAT SPRINGSBallet Northwest presents a 35-minute, three-piece dance series for the community in memory of Amy Tumminello who died of breast cancer. The dance is at 4 p.m. today at the Depot for $5. Proceeds will go toward the purchase of a statue in Tumminello's honor. Tumminello was a dancer and choreographer of the Steamboat Dance Theatre for about 15 years.

SOPRANO CONCERT SET FOR THURSDAY

STEAMBOAT SPRINGSThe Steamboat Springs Arts Council present an emerging artist, soprano singer Keri Rusthoi accompanied by pianist Mutsumi Moteki at a recital at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Depot. A special selection of their repertoire will be presented. They will begin with "Alleluja" from Exsultate Jubilate, then four songs by Roger Quilter and "Villanescas" by Jean Berger. Tickets are available at the door for $8 for adults, $5 for seniors, students and Arts Council members. Children under 12 are free.


WINE, BEER TASTING TO BENEFIT MUSEUM

STEAMBOAT SPRINGSTo benefit the Tread of Pioneers Museum, a wine and beer tasting will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Centennial Hall, on the corner or 10th and Oak streets. Tickets are available for $35 per person at the museum, The Bottleneck, All That Jazz and Mountain High Technology for tastings, hors d'oeuvres and chocolate desserts. The event is sponsored by The Bottleneck, National Distributing Corp., Pinnacle Distributing Corp., Steamboat Brewery and Tavern and Steamboat Springs Cellars.

'WORDS AND MUSIC' COMING TO DEPOT

STEAMBOAT SPRINGSPam Houston and Nerissa Nields present their "Words and Music Tour" at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Depot. Advance tickets are available at Off the Beaten Path Bookstore for $12 and $15 at the door. Presented by Off the Beaten Path with the Steamboat Springs Arts Council. Houston, author of "Cowboys Are My Weakness," "Waltzing the Cat" and "A Little More About Me," and Nields, of the eclectic folk/rock band The Nields, reveal their innovative abilities to improvise and their creative abilities.

EMERALD PRINTS TO PAY FOR PARCEL

STEAMBOAT SPRINGSArtist R.C. Dieckhoff displays his paintings of "The Emerald Mountain Series" through April 1 at The Small Works Gallery. A portion of the proceeds of sales from the print "Emerald Mountain on River Walk" go to the support of The Emerald Mountain Partnership in its effort to raise $17.5 million for the purchase and conservation of the 6,345-acre parcel.
