Resource directory available

Human services listings at fingertips of residents, agencies

— Looking for an organization that will help you find child care in the Yampa Valley?

Wanting to adopt a child?

Do you need to find the state agency that will help you figure out what benefits grandmother can get?

The Yampa Valley Partners has all those sources in their updated Community Resource Directory, which is available on its Web site.

The resource directory lists everything from health and human resource agencies at the local and state level to nonprofit groups, education systems, community organizations, colleges and even local stores that provide community services.

If residents don't have a computer, they can use computers in their local libraries, said Audrey Danner at Yampa Valley Partners, a committee that studies major economic, social and environmental indicators that affect Routt and Moffat counties.

The Web site is mostly used by citizens, but Danner hopes agencies will begin using it for their clients since it's free.

The community resource directory also has a new site where organizations or groups can fill out an application online and be put in the resource directory within a week.

Danner appeared before the Routt County Commissioners this week to talk about the Web site.

The commissioners at the meeting also interviewed consultant candidates who will reorganize, update and make zoning and subdivision regulations more user-friendly.
