Flora M. Thrasher 1914-2001

1914-2001

Flora M. Thrasher died Feb. 28, 2001 at Doak Walker Care Center. She was 86.

She was born May 21,1914 in Chardon, Ohio to Lachlan and Pearl (Baldwin) Bickle. She married Robert J. Thrasher June 16, 1934 in Chardon.

They lived in Chardon all their lives and retired to Roosevelt, Ariz., and moved to Steamboat Springs in 1980.

Flo was a homemaker, telephone operator and secretary for the Chardon High School.

She was a member of United Methodist Church in Steamboat Springs and loved music.

She sang alto in the Chardon Methodist Church Choir, and she played violin in the Chagrin, Ohio Orchestra and the Steamboat Springs Chamber Orchestra.

She is survived by three daughters, Judith Fivecoate and husband Clarence of Palisade, Constance Link and husband David of Steamboat Springs, Diane Armington and husband Bob of Lake Wales, Fla., a son, John Thrasher and wife Sandy of Steamboat Springs, 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jan. 15, 1998.

Funeral services were held March 3, 2001 at United Methodist Church in Steamboat Springs.

Tim Selby and Father David Henderson officiated. Interment was at the Steamboat Springs Cemetery.

Peterson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
