Allen promoted to banking officer
Adonna Allen has been promoted to banking officer at Alpine Bank of Steamboat Springs. Allen was instrumental in the opening of the branch here. She is a fourth-generation Steamboat Springs rancher and serves on the Routt County Cattlewomen and Community Agriculture Alliance board. She also is a Youth Leader with United Methodist Youth Group.

Nominations open for ethics award
The nomination deadline for the Mountain States Better Business Bureau annual Torch Awards for Marketplace Ethics is Friday.
The Torch Awards are given annually to businesses that demonstrate that choosing to do the right thing is the hallmark of a successful business. Any for-profit company in the Mountain States BBB region may be nominated for this award.

Local video to run on KUSA Chan. 9
"A Season of Wildflowers," the video produced locally by botanist Karen Vail and videographer/director Tom Baer of Dome Peak Productions, will receive widespread exposure this spring and summer when Denver's KUSA-TV Channel 9 will broadcast segments of the 62-minute program on Fridays and weekends.
The video documents close to 40 species of wildflowers that can be found in the meadows and mountains of northwest Colorado. It was edited by Brian Sheehan of Beyond Digital Communications in Denver. Vail is featured extensively on camera, giving insightful comments about various wildflowers. She is well-known in Steamboat for the many hikes she leads.
The video, which is packages with a pocket field guide, is available locally at Yampatika nature store, Off the Beaten Path and Steamboat Floral.
