Steamboat Springs Three men involved in an alleged drug ring that includes Routt County were arrested Wednesday morning in Denver with more than 200 pounds of marijuana, a little more than three ounces of cocaine and thousands of dollars.
Humberto Abraham Saenz-Chavez, 40, Hector Garcia-Caro, 30, and Jose Homero Garcia, 23, were arrested after a 17-month investigation was conducted by numerous agencies, including the Grant, Routt and Moffat Narcotics Enforcement Team.
The three men were arrested early Wednesday morning during an undercover operation, said Deputy District Attorney Charles Feldmann, who is also a project director for GRAMNET.
Once the three men were in custody, authorities seized 227 pounds of marijuana, 3.5 ounces of cocaine, more than $3,000 in cash, a 9mm semiautomatic pistol and a vehicle.
Garcia-Caro and Garcia are both illegal immigrants. The suspects are being held in the Denver City Jail on charges of distribution of a schedule II controlled substance, conspiracy to distribute a schedule II substance and introduction of marijuana.
