Maxine Labaree of Steamboat Springs died June 6, 2001, at Yampa Valley Medical Center. She was 84.
Maxine was born March 19, 1917, in Grangeville, Idaho, to Mr. and Mrs. Mundt. She married Phillip Labaree Feb. 15, 1941, in Price, Utah. He preceded her in death in 1983. The Labarees moved to the Yampa Valley in 1965, and Maxine was employed with the Yampa Valley Electric Association, retiring in 1975.
She was a very active member of the United Methodist Church, volunteered at the Extended Care Center and Doak Walker Care Center, was involved in water aerobics at Steamboat Health and Recreation and was in the Fun Club and the Ladies Recreation Club.
She is survived by three sons, Hud Labaree and wife Jean of Steamboat Springs, Tracy Labaree of Fort Myers, Fla., and Jon Labaree and his wife Lexine of Santa Rosa, Calif.; four grandchildren, Lindsay, Blair, Joshua and Rachel; two great-grandchildren, Sierra and Cody; and a sister, Betty June Wadley of Grangeville, Idaho.
There are no funeral services scheduled. Memorials in Maxine's name may be sent to the United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 773748, Steamboat Springs, 80477. Peterson Funeral Home of Steamboat Springs assisted the family with arrangements.
