CREEK CLEAN-UP CALLED A 'SUCCESS'
OAK CREEKOak Creek Town Manager Ray Leibensperger said the creek clean up in Oak Creek on July 7 was a big success.
"We are making an effort to make Oak Creek more ascetically pleasing," Leibensperger said.
About 18 volunteers, organized by Phyllis Warner, pulled four pick-up loads of junk out of the creek.
"We have a lot a good time wading the water," Warner said.
SUBDIVISIONS GAIN APPROVAL BY COUNTY
STEAMBOAT SPRINGSFinal plats for two Stagecoach developments received recommendations for approval by the Routt County Planning Commission.
Stage Stop Development at Lakeview Meadow Subdivision, near Blue Valley Ranch, received a recommendation after the commission discussed fire precautions in the development. The subdivision would have six residential units of five-to-eight acres each on 70 acre of land. There is a 34-acre open space in the plan.
Middle Creek Village also received a recommendation at the Thursday commission meeting. That subdivision would have 12 units on 4.83 acres of land. The commission recommended the plan after the Ranch Manager Pam Williams, of the adjacent Glas Deffreyn Ranch, warned that the homesites are very close to ranch land where spraying for noxious weeds take place.
General Manager of Middle Creek Village Coleman Cook, who plans to buy a home in the subdivision, said that would be an issue that can be worked in the future home owners association meetings.
Both plans in Stagecoach go in front of the Routt County Commissioners for approval on August 14.
