The Slopeside Summer Concert Series, in conjunction with Wake the Dead music, presents Mama Sutra from 3:30 to 7 p.m., weather permitting, Sunday. From Boulder, Mama Sutra started a project to start a hippy, jam band in Venice Beach, Calif. With a DJ producing techno samples and old funk songs, Mama Sutra presents their fans with a funky and groovey rock. Slopeside Grill is located in Torian Plum Plaza at the Steamboat Ski Area. The Cee Knowledge Project and the Cosmic Funk Orchestra originally was to play the Slopeside Series; however, the tour has been cancelled because the group has split due to artistic differences.

Wednesday

Brad Thompson and The Undulating Band present an acoustic groove trio at 9 p.m. at the Tugboat. The band formed seven years ago in Fort Worth, Texas, with inspirations from Toad the Wet Sprocket, Michael Hedges and Counting Crows. Thompson grabbed "undulating" when he overheard David Lee Roth speak of Val Halen putting on a show that was worth the people's money and was undulating. Thompson said he admired how serious Roth was about entertaining people but also his quirky disposition. The dance rock band has produced four CDs and performed at the H.O.R.D.E. festival.
