Scholarships for athletic winners
The "Will to Win" Asthma Athlete Scholarship Program for high school scholar-athletes marks its 17th consecutive year in 2001.
Sponsored by Schering/Key, the "Will to Win" program grants $35,000 in scholarships to 10 high school seniors who have excelled in athletics in spite of the challenge of asthma. The grand prize winner will receive a $10,000 gold award, with four silver and five bronze award winners receiving $5,000 and $1,000, respectively.
Scholarship applications may be obtained by calling "The Will to Win" hotline at 1-800-558-7305. The deadline for entries is April 30.
In last week's brief on peewee wrestling the contact number to register or for more information was wrong. If you want to know more about this program, call Richard Atkinson at 879-4976 or stop by the organizational meeting on March 1 at the Steamboat Springs Middle School cafeteria.
