Hayden Valley Press still No. 1

Steamboat Springs For the second year in a row, the Hayden Valley Press won the Colorado Press Association award for general excellence.
The honor recognizes outstanding overall work by both weekly and daily newspapers.
"We are very proud of the Hayden Valley Press and we hope the community is as well," Editor Mark Louden said. "In an era when more and more newspapers are closing their doors, the Hayden Valley Press has reinvented itself and is excelling."
In addition to individual writing, photography, layout and ad design categories, newspapers are recognized with "sweepstakes" awards for their performance in three broad categories: advertising, editorial content, and photo and design.
The Hayden Valley Press was named the best newspaper of its size in both editorial content and advertising. It also won a community service award for a series on teen smoking.
