— Mixed-use project rising near bank

A new mixed-use building called One Alpine Plaza is under construction near Alpine Bank on Central Park Drive. The site is near the shopping center that includes City Market.

Developer Craig Rathbun said the building will include 9,000 square feet of office/retail space on the first floor and four residential condominiums on the second floor. Rathbun's group acquired the project from Alpine Bank, which gained city approval for it at the same time it received permits to build the bank.

Early interest in the commercial space is from medical groups seeking office space close to Yampa Valley Medical Center, Rathbun said. The two-bedroom, two-bath condos will include 950 square feet, private patios and 60 square foot storage areas.

"This is our first mixed-use building," Rathbun said. "We'll see how the market responds to it."
